The Team Behind the Teams

Simon Cornwell

Chairman & Trustee
Initially got involved with the club twenty years ago as a parent when his son George joined the club when he was 6. Then become manager when he was u8 through to u21.

After that was asked to become a member of the committee, followed by joining as a trustee.

Then became the club chairman and with his vision he led the club from Intermediate football into Senior football & instigated all the ground developments that have brought the club into the Senior non-league game.

Katie Oswin

Company Secretary
Joined the club in 2013 when her son joined at mini-soccer, and soon fell in love with all we do and wanted to be more involved. Katie joined the committee in 2017 to help support the big increase in administration for the club, a role which evolved into Company Secretary and so much more, from development plans to funding applications.

Katie was a full-time employee of Buckhurst Hill Football Club, overseeing the day-to-day accounting and supporting Simon and the team with all our commercial and sponsorship plans. But following a career change in 2026, she went back to being a volunteer, and remains a huge part of Buckhurst Hill FC — keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes and acting as the first point of contact for all committee members.

Mark Profeti

Club Treasurer
Mark has been at the club for twenty years, initially being asked by a friend who was a manager of one of our youth teams to help with coaching, as Mark had experience & played at a high standard of semi-professional football.

Mark then was asked by current chairman Simon to work alongside him when his team was under 14’s and continued all the way through to under 21’s. Mark was then asked to become the club’s treasurer as well as continuing to coach our youth teams as well as our first team coach, so is fully embedded into the Buckhurst Hill Family.

Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to creating a positive environment for every player make her an invaluable member of the BHFC family.

Ken Richbell

Child Welfare Officer/Trustee
Another long serving committee member who has been a youth manager, groundsman and club chairman.

The clubhouse is named after him & Ray as the Sherrin/Richbell Clubhouse, after they were hugely instrumental in getting it built.

His son has played for the club, coached for the club and played for the first team. Still actively involved with the club as our child welfare officer and referees on a Sunday.

Ray Sherrin

President
Ray joined the club back in 1985 and managed several youth teams, before switching to the seniors. The Stags won their first trophies under Ray who has done every job at the club and still active today as club President and can be seen at the club every weekend.
In 2021 his total commitment to grassroots football was rewarded by the Essex FA with his long service award, plus in his role as groundsman won the Ground Staff of the Year Award by the Essex FA for our outstanding pitches.
He loves watching his Grandson and both Granddaughters playing for our youth teams.

All 4 of his children have been part of the club: 2 boys and 2 girls.

James joined the committee to help out on the commercial side 5 years ago and has helped bring in multiple sponsors to help different areas, from the youth to the senior section.

Aimee Williams

Finance/Admin manager
Aimee plays a vital role at Buckhurst Hill as the club’s Finance and Administration Manager, helping to ensure its day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes. From managing financial records and payments to supporting the club’s wider administrative needs, Aimee brings organisation, professionalism, and attention to detail to everything she does. Her dedication and commitment provide invaluable support to the committee, teams, and wider BHFC community, making her an essential member of the Buckhurst Hill family.

Mark Williams

Committee Member
Mark Williams has risen through the ranks; having started off as a manager for an U8 side, Mark then went on to manage a number of sides right up to the U18S, becoming one of the most successful youth managers at the club in the process as he won a lot of titles and cups.

He was then asked to become the first team manager and has been instrumental in the restructuring of our senior structure, utilising a club ethos of producing home grown talent, recruiting and developing from within the club.

Layla Brownrigg

Committee Member
Layla is the heart and driving force behind our Buckhurst Hill girls’ youth teams.

She believes that football is not just about skills on the pitch but about teamwork, resilience, and having fun, values she instills in each of her players.

Craig Sherrin

Craig's involvement with Buckhurst Hill started when he was a player, then becoming a youth manager for many years with his son, Archie in his team.

Craig has been instrumental in the growth of our youth and mini soccer, including setting up our Girl’s section which has been a huge success. Today Craig is the club's youth secretary as well as refereeing on a Sunday, organising all our fixtures for our youth teams and supporting our groundsman, another person that spends a lot of time at the club doing one job or another.

Janet Rooney

>Late husband Kevin was one of the club's first managers and Janet served as club secretary at youth and senior level for many years. She has been a fundraiser, committee member and has worked for many years in our T-bar on a Sunday serving all your favourites.

Jan now loves watching the first team play and getting behind the boys.

Will Rabicano

Boys Youth Representative
Will joins the committee this year as Boys Youth Representative, having first got involved with the club at mini-soccer with his son back in 2021. Since then he's thrown himself into every part of grassroots football at Buckhurst Hill, co-managing the U10 Royals alongside Ronnie Gill and running our U5/U6 Buckhurst Hill Academy.

Will's experience, determination and genuine love for the club make him a fantastic addition to the committee, and we're excited to have his energy and insight representing our boys' youth teams.
