Remembering A Legend

Keith Harris (1956–2026)

This evening, Buckhurst Hill Football Club comes together not only for a historic occasion, but also to honour the life of a truly special member of our football family.

It is with great pride that we welcome Alfie Harris and the Harris family as we officially unveil The Keith Harris Home Dugout, dedicated in memory of Keith Harris (1956–2026).

Keith was far more than a member of the first-team backroom staff. He was a loyal servant to Buckhurst Hill FC, a trusted friend, and someone whose passion, commitment and love for the club touched everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Whether preparing for a match, supporting the management team or encouraging the players from the dugout, Keith’s presence was a constant and invaluable part of the club’s journey.

Alongside his grandson Alfie, Keith played an important role in the success and development of the first team. It is therefore only fitting that the place where he spent so many hours, sharing in the highs, the challenges and the unforgettable moments, will forever bear his name.

The Keith Harris Home Dugout will stand as a lasting tribute to a man whose dedication helped shape this football club. It will serve as a daily reminder to players, coaches, volunteers and supporters of the values Keith embodied—commitment, loyalty, humility and an unwavering love for Buckhurst Hill FC.

This evening is made even more poignant as we celebrate our first-ever Isthmian League home fixture against Grays Athletic, another landmark moment in the club’s history. It feels especially fitting that Keith’s name will become part of that history too. We know he would have been immensely proud to see the club reach this stage, and we have no doubt he will be looking down on us with that familiar smile.

To Alfie and the entire Harris family, please know that our thoughts, love and deepest condolences remain with you. Buckhurst Hill Football Club has always been, and always will be, your football family. Keith’s legacy will live on, not only through the dugout that now carries his name, but through the countless memories he helped create and the people whose lives he touched.

A Moment of Remembrance

Before this evening’s kick-off, we ask all players, officials and supporters to join us in observing a minute’s silence in memory of Keith Harris.

Thank you for helping us honour a man who gave so much to our club.
