BHFC Girls Influential In Cup Success

At the end of last season Chigwell School U11 Girls football team had great success.

In May they were crowned champions of the London Independent Prep Schools Cup at Bromley High (without letting in a goal).

On June 15th they came second in the whole country when they competed at the FA’s St George’s Park in the Independent Schools National cup. This was a huge story for Buckhurst Hill FC because, out of a squad of 10 girls, 6 play for the u12 BHFC Tigresses and 3 play for the u12 BHFC Lionesses (the one non BHFC player used to play for the club!).

This is testament to the hard work that the club’s coaches put into girls football. While at St George’s Park, the girls were also lucky enough to meet many of the England Lionesses squad who were training at the FA HQ just before they began their victorious Euro’s campaign.

Perhaps Leah Williamson et al were inspired by meeting the BHFC girls!!!
