Report by Anthony Mercer

Buckhurst Hill welcomed league leaders Enfield to Myrak Park, but the visitors extended their lead at the top with clinical finishing on a damp night.

Manager Mark Williams gave debuts to keeper Oliver Keil and a second-half introduction of George Johnson.

Buckhurst Hill got off to a good start with Sonny Shilling seeing his freekick go just wide. Keil in the home goal was called upon soon after but made a fine save. The scoreline was opened on 26 when Ollie Williams played the ball through to leading goal scorer Hassan Nalbant who composed himself to fire low into the net.

Enfield equalised on 30 when a long throw from the right was not cleared by Keil and left Aaron Green the easiest of chances to tap home. Enfield improved and twice struck the woodwork, before a Solomon Ofori lob just before the break, to see his side go into the break in front.

Buckhurst Hill started the second period well, with Brad Rowland firing just wide, before captain Keaton Moore headed close.

On 55 saw the goal of the game when Kieran Bishop found space on the right, before unleashing an effort that flew past Keil. Rowland again went close on 64, before a fine freekick from Jake Moss, seeing Jarvis Monk making a brilliant save.

On 75 Bishop went close but was denied by a Keil save.

The final 10 minutes was all Enfield, with Ofori finding the net on 83 firing home to make it 4-1. With the clock counting down, substitute Dwade James was brought down in the box and Louise Johnson stepped up to smash home. In the final seconds, Aaron Green scored his second curling his effort into the bottom corner to make it 6-1.

The result leave’s the Stags in 9th spot. Buckhurst Hill’s next game sees them make a trip to Saffron Walden Town next Saturday.
