Their journey to the finals has been nothing short of impressive, with their latest victory against Leigh Ramblers FC on Sunday.
The first semi-final saw EJA U14s travel away to Wingate & Finchley, where they dominated the game from start to finish. Goals from Foot and McGovern (2) secured a comfortable 3-1 victory and a place in the final.
The second semi-final against Leigh Ramblers FC proved to be a much tougher challenge. Despite trailing 2-0, EJA U14s showed great character and determination to come back and win 3-2. Cook scored two crucial goals, and McGovern once again proved to be the hero, netting the winner.
EJA U14s now turn their attention to the league run-in, where they currently sit third in the table. However, with all their remaining matches being must-win games, they also have a chance to become champions.
“These players are a great bunch who have a tough resilience,” said their coach. “Even when the odds have been against them, they have come up with a result. But no trophies are ever won in March!”
The team’s success so far is a testament to their hard work and dedication. With the finals fast approaching, EJA U14s will be looking to continue their winning streak and bring home both trophies.
