Buckhurst Hill u14 Lionesses 5 – 2 Hashtag Utd u14 Blues
“Terrible, “woeful”, “awful”. The U14 Lionesses’ first-half performance had been shocking, and these, amongst others, were words of tough love being dished out, via a proverbial half-time hairdryer. Our visitors, Hashtag Blue, were seeking revenge for the reverse away fixture defeat a few weeks prior and were inflicting it well, two goals ahead.
The teams swapped ends, and so did their fortunes. Ciara burst forward to slot home and grab a goal back shortly after Josie got the score level. The Lionesses were back in their stride and pushed on to nose ahead with Josie’s brace. A few minutes later, a loose ball cleared the Hashtag penalty area, only for Ava to despatch it with a thunderbolt drive to make it four. Ciara then topped things off with a second to wrap up the most unlikely 5 – 2 full-time scoreline.
Credit to the girls for turning things around, in a classic game of two halves.
