Scorers: Charlie Cook ⚽️

What a fantastic result we witnessed yesterday!

We are thrilled and filled with pride at the performance of this group of players. They faced tough odds even at home, against Ware FC, who were top and unbeaten this season, but they delivered a dominant display that left everyone amazed.

The team had to change their formation in the first half to a 4-5-1 to contain their opponents. In the second half, they switched to a more attacking 4-2-1-3 formation that gave them the edge they needed to secure the win.

It wasn’t an easy match for the team. They had to deal with the absence of two players who were away on a school trip and their top scorer, Max Hart, who played despite being only at 50% with a virus. Additionally, they lost their skipper to an ankle injury, and 2nd top scorer Charlie Cook was involved in a car crash. To add insult to injury, someone vandalized the Manager’s car the night before.

Despite all of these challenges, the team showed an incredible inner strength that made all the difference on the pitch. Their goal, scored with only 7 minutes to go, was the result of their hard work from the training ground. Chris caught the ball from a corner, threw it to Beau, who carried it down the right and broke towards the Ware box. He looked up and saw 4-5 runners who had gone box to box with him, and Charlie received the ball, stepped inside for a controlled instep right foot shot, and scored past their gutted keeper.

Overall, it was a fantastic result, and the team deserves all the credit for their incredible performance. We can’t wait to see what they will achieve in their next match!
