The first half was one with very few chances for either side to take the lead, however, the visitors did come close on two occasions. A last-ditch challenge from Ethan Daniels denied the Holland striker from six yards out before Stags goalkeeper Alex Reed denied the visitors from the same distance with a good save. Goalless at the break.
The second half was the same story. With nothing to shout home about, the tie looked set to be heading for a penalty shootout to decide who would go through to the next round, however with nine minutes of the ninety remaining – that changed.
Substitute Luke Sackey was at the back post to meet a sumptuous delivery from the left, and he cushioned his effort back across goal and into the top corner to give The Stags the breakthrough!
Holland looked to find a way back into the contest, however, with little time remaining they failed to create any chances that would cause the Buckhurst Hill defence problems and left Myrak Park empty-handed.
