BHFC U18 EJA win league title

BHFC U18 EJA 7 v 1 CHESHUNT EJA

Victor (3)
Redmond (2)
Henry
Toju

By James Lamb

We went into the weekend knowing a win for us and a defeat for our closest rival would seal the league title for us. Fresh on the back of our dramatic SF win v Bowers on pens the boys were full of vigour and confidence.
We set about our task with high energy and purpose, firing into a early lead as Redmond dispatched a lose ball in typical fashion 1-0. We continued to press looking for the 2nd but this took us a little longer with Henry firing in a low shot from the edge of the box bouncing in off both posts, 2-0. Victor kept his rich vein of form going making it 3-0 shortly after, then 4-0 Redmond again, big Vic then made it 5-0 then he smashed in his hat-trick and the goal of the game to make it 6-0.
The midfield was dominating with Lee partnering with Tami and Henry, Toju & Tay causing problems with their pace down the wings. The Backline with Danny/Recce/Vince and the ever-present Marquez holding firm.
HT came and passed, this time against the wind, and with the game seemly won we took our foot a little off the pedal, allowing Cheshunt to get one back before Toju wrapped up proceedings nodding in Tay’s effort which had been saved.
Then came the news that our closest rivals had lost 2-1, and the boys celebrated together.
We’ll look to close out the league campaign next week v Frenford and after 11 straight wins no one could deny we deserved the title. Now onto the Mid-Week Magnus Cup Final v Ware FC on the 9th May, and the EJA Champions Cup.
So far its been a fantastic season and story for the boys, but we want to leave this book open for one final push….TBC

Chairman Simon Cornwell added “Amazing day for the club and our stars for tomorrow.
To win the Under 18 EJA League is the toughest of the lot so to win the league speaks volumes and bodes well for the future”
