Youth Round-Up – Week 11

Fightbacks, Big Wins & Real BHFC Character Across the Club

Week 11 delivered another action-packed round of fixtures for Buckhurst Hill, with teams across the age groups showing resilience, quality and that unmistakable black-and-blue spirit. From last-minute battles in our youngest squads to composed performances higher up the club, the weekend was packed with storylines, standout displays and plenty of goals.

The day began with superb energy from our youngest groups. The U7s produced performances full of determination and character — the Blues ran Upminster Park Rovers close in a lively contest, the Whites shone thanks to a hat-trick from Louis S, and the Royals fought back brilliantly at Blackmore with Max and Freddie leading a spirited comeback.

There was more excitement in the U8s, where the Lionesses mounted a fantastic second-half turnaround after a difficult start in Colchester, showcasing real fight and togetherness. The U8 Blues put on a passing masterclass at home, drawing praise from opposition coaches as Zach, Rehan and Orlando produced moments of real quality.

Our U9s continued to impress. The Royals extended their unbeaten run to ten games with six different scorers contributing to another strong display. The Blacks showed grit and personality to recover from two goals down away at Tigers U10 Girls, sealing the win in dramatic late circumstances. The Whites put in a hardworking shift despite a tough morning.

The momentum carried into the U10s, where the Blues produced three excellent finishes in a committed away performance at Perry Street. The Tigresses delivered one of the standout displays of the weekend — an imperious showing in a higher division featuring four different scorers and another four goals from Vallavi, who hit the 25-goal mark for the season. Player of the Match Sofia was superb both in goal and defence, and the team capped the day with a birthday celebration for Poppy.

At U11 level, the Lionesses showed real character after a challenging few weeks. Despite illness and no natural goalkeeper, they delivered one of their most committed performances of the season, pushing their opponents all the way and narrowing the deficit with a superb finish from Winnie. The Blacks continued their strong form with a performance built on slick passing and great decision-making.

In the U12s, the Tigresses bowed out of the cup but earned huge credit for their display, dominating large spells against opponents four divisions above. The U12 Lionesses were in excellent form, producing a complete 6–0 performance featuring sharp attacking play and structured defending.

The U13s experienced a mixed weekend. The Blues earned a special moment playing on the first-team pitch, creating memories despite defeat. The Royals claimed a hard-fought 2–1 win after a stronger second-half display, while the Lionesses learned valuable lessons in a tough Essex Cup fixture against a top-tier opponent.

Both U14 teams performed well. The Blues adapted superbly to a difficult pitch in their victory over Jays Yellows, while the Blacks managed a physical encounter confidently, securing a deserved win.

In the older age groups, the U15 Blacks surged to an impressive 8–2 win after a dominant second-half showing. The U15 Lionesses saw their unbeaten run end in the County Cup quarter-final but remained competitive throughout. The U18 Lionesses moved into the semi-finals of the League Cup with a gritty 1–0 victory, and the U18 EJA side delivered a sharp and disciplined 6–0 win marked by control and clinical finishing.

Across the club, Week 11 showcased everything that makes BHFC special: commitment, bravery, quality and togetherness. From our youngest age groups right up to our U18s, every squad contributed to a weekend packed with pride and positivity.

The black-and-blue spirit continues to shine — and there’s plenty more to come as the season rolls on. 💙🖤⚫🔵
