The Steven Robinson Scholarship

Buckhurst Hill FC are delighted to announce a partnership in conjunction with Essex Cryo Clinic, “The Steven Robinson Scholarship”

We’ve taken this day to announce a scholarship at Buckhurst Hill FC which will help fund fees over the coming seasons in the name of Steven Robinson who tragically lost his life 35 years ago to the day, 15 April 1989 in The Hillsborough Tragedy, at only 17 years old.

Steven was an avid football fan, and so are his family still, and his father would like nothing more than some good to come out of the compensation they received after 35 years, we all know the story of why this took so long.

This has been organised by Steven’s sister, Claire who owns Essex Cryo Clinic, which are also a sponsor at the club.

Club chairman Simon Cornwell added “We are incredibly proud to be involved with this partnership and would like to thank Claire and her family for choosing Buckhurst Hill Football Club, it means a lot.”

A direct message from Claire.
“Do you want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money in aid of Buckhurst Hill FC and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me. Steven lost his life attending a football game on that fateful day. Steven loved football and he loved kids so we are hoping to support local kids with their fees if they would like to play football but can’t afford to.

I have personally funded the scholarship to run for the next 3 years but I would love it to continue for as long as possible.

If we reach our goal we can support another 5 kids per year for another 3 years!! Hopefully, we will discover the next Steven Gerrard!! I know times are tight but any donation big or small is so appreciated and will go towards helping a child play the game we all love. Many thanks, Claire x
