Buckhurst Hill Football Club has launched a ‘Food Drive’ initiative to support two local foodbank charities.
The club is collecting canned food and non-perishable items for Epping Forest Foodbank and 3Food4U.
The collection point – at the football club’s clubhouse in Roding Lane, Buckhurst Hill – is open from November 26 until December 17.
Club chairman Simon Cornwell said: “Buckhurst Hill Football club appreciate the difficult times so many families are having at the moment, and even more so with the period leading up to Christmas.
“From tomorrow (November 26) the Buckhurst Hill Family will be supporting two local foodbanks – Epping Forest Foodbank and 3Food4U – and there will be donation boxes at the ground.
“Our ethos is all about community so please help in any way you can. It really does make a difference.”
